AVE MARIA is a Project Hail Mary Fanzine centered around the red string of fate that guides Grace’s journey. This project is meant to be a celebration of the hope and love found within the story, the fandom community, and serve as a love letter from the fans to the creators!Design-wise, AVE MARIA will mimic a traditional magazine, splicing together art and writing in different spreads. Each chapter will follow a stage of Grace’s metamorphosis, highlighting how he is shaped and supported by those around him. We are hoping to showcase a diverse array of talent, so if you have an idea you’d like featured, we encourage you to apply when applications open!This is an unofficial, fan-run project that is NOT affiliated with Andy Weir or Amazon MGM in any official capacity. The content of the zine will be general and SFW, meaning it will NOT host any explicit, sexual, or shipping contents. Content should be largely canon-compliant and celebrate the original material as written! This means no OCs or AUs.

▻ Chapter 1: Teacher Grace, explores Ryland's life and interpersonal relationships before joining Project Hail Mary.
▻ Chapter 2: Scientist Grace, explores Ryland's life and interpersonal relationships in academia and introduction to Project Hail Mary.
▻ Chapter 3: Crewmate Grace, explores Ryland's life and interpersonal relationships as Project Hail Mary prepares for launch and as he is alone in space.
▻ Chapter 4: Captain Grace, explores Ryland's life and interpersonal relationships after joining forces with Rocky to save stars.

✧ General GuidelinesCONTENT
▻ All submissions are to be original pieces made specifically for the zine.
▻ All submissions must follow any given templates, themes, or style guides and MUST be submitted in the specified format.
▻ All content is to be SFW, largely canon-compliant in nature, and refrain from sensitive topics (exceptions being what topics are explicitly outlined in the book and/or movie).
▻ The use of generative A.I. in your work in any capacity will result in your immediate removal from the project.COMMUNICATION
▻ Contributors are expected to join the zine’s Discord server and will be given access to the Zine Lab upon acceptance.
▻ Important announcements and reminders will be shared here and contributors are expected to check the server and stay up to date.DEADLINES
▻ All deadlines must be met. Ample reminders will be given, but accounting for timezone differences and punctuality is the contributor’s responsibility.
▻ Extensions may be given upon request and by staff’s discretion. Life happens!
▻ If you are unable to continue working on the zine for any reason, notify staff immediately. A pinch hitter will fill your spot.CONFIDENTIALITY
▻ Works (finished, roughs, WIPS) made for the zine are to remain private during the creation of the zine. The only place they may be shared is the private Zine Lab section of our server, designated for contributors.
▻ At the start of preorders, contributors may share a preview of their work to promote sales. Run your tentative post by our social media manager before posting.
▻ At the start of leftovers, contributors may share their work in full.
▻ After leftovers are fulfilled, contributors retain all rights to their own work and may use it as they please.If a contributor is found to be in violation of any of the listed expectations or zine server rules, the staff reserves the right to remove them from the project.
